For Engineering Managers

Find the stuck work before stand-up finds it.

You already know roughly how your team is doing. What you do not have is the ten minutes each morning to work out which four pull requests are quietly blocking everything and which sprint items are not going to make it. Pacia assembles that list for you.

This morning — Platform team
Waiting for review > 24h
4 pull requests
Open longer than 30 days
2 pull requests
Review load, top reviewer
41% of team reviews
Sprint 42, at risk
3 of 18 issues
Agreement: review within 4h
78% hit rate

The information exists. Assembling it is the job you do not have time for.

Everything you need is technically visible already — it is spread across a repository’s pull request list, a Jira board, a CI dashboard and whatever you remember from last week. Assembling it into "what needs my attention today" is a twenty-minute task that has to be repeated every morning, so in practice it gets done properly about once a fortnight.

Pacia does the assembling. Filtered pull request views for waiting-on-review, stale and aged work. Sprint views that show what was planned, what got added mid-sprint, what is going to carry out. Review load distribution, so you can see when you have quietly become a single point of failure for your own team. It is the Monday-morning list, kept current.

Turn the weekly pattern into a team decision

A working agreement connects the queue you can see today with the process change the team reviews in its next retro.

A working agreement stays owned by the team

  4. 4Retro decidesChange the process or change the target

The loop matters more than the percentage. A target imposed once becomes a quota; a target reviewed against named work remains a working agreement.

The things worth acting on this week

  • The pull requests that need a nudge

Filtered views for waiting-for-review, stale beyond 24 hours, and aged beyond 30 days — plus participating and our-team cuts so you can narrow to what is yours. Optionally pushed to Slack or Teams so it reaches you where you already are.

  • Sprint risk while there is still sprint left

Planned versus added-later versus delivered versus carried out, with the issues at risk called out. Sprint membership changes are read from the Jira changelog, so work added on day six is visible as added work rather than silently folded into the original plan.

  • Where your team’s review load really sits

Review distribution across the team. It is common for one or two people to carry most of it, and it is almost always invisible until they take a fortnight off and everything stops.

  • Whether your working agreements are holding

Your team’s own targets, with a live compliance rate and every miss listed. Useful in a retro precisely because the team chose the numbers.

  • A personal view for each of your engineers

My Day gives each person their own queue — what is waiting on them, what they are blocking — and Contributor Insights shows them their own figures, the same view you see. Nobody should meet their numbers for the first time in a review.

Common questions

Will my team see me looking at their metrics?

They cannot see who looked, but they can see the same figures. Contributor Insights is available to each person for their own work, and every number on the performance boards opens to the pull requests behind it. That symmetry is the point: a metric your team can check for themselves is one they will argue with productively rather than resent.

Can I get the daily list without opening another tab?

Yes. The Slack and Microsoft Teams apps post the pull request queue, lifecycle alerts and pickup warnings into your team’s channel, configured per team in settings. Many managers never open the web app during a normal week.

What if we do not run sprints?

Everything derived from pull requests works without Jira at all. Sprint and epic views simply do not appear if there is no board to read. Teams running continuous flow generally live in the PR insights, cycle time and working agreement views.
